Q. What is the tannin content in Rooibos tea?
A. Rooibos only has about 4.4 percent tannin content, compared to 12 percent in black tea, which means that it does not have the astringent taste associated with camellia sinensis and will not become bitter even after long steeping times.
A: Yes. As Vital Organic Rooibos Tea is naturally caffeine free and low in tannins it is good alternative for expectant and new mothers who may have been warned against drinking caffeinated and high tannin drinks when pregnant or breast-feeding.
Q: Is Rooibos Tea a diuretic?
A: No. Vital Organic Rooibos Tea is naturally caffeine free and therefore it is not a diuretic. It is the caffeine content in many teas and coffees which makes them a diuretic.
